June Tournaments

First, I would like to congratulate all of you who competed at the Cotton Boll Classic in Tulare this past weekend.

Despite the hot weather and fierce competition, several of our members placed in cadet and cub divisions.

For the month of June, there are three tournaments.

1) Long Beach Qualifier - 6/10
Though this is not a formal tournament, this is a great way to build experience and practice.
It is no different than keeping score of your practice.
You can register at: http://www.thisisforscore.com/

2) California State Outdoor Championships - 6/16-6/17
This is third of the four state ranking tournaments of the year.
The location is El Dorado Park, our usual practicing range.
This tournament is rather large, as it is a state tournament.
You can register at:

3) Easton JOAD Nationals - 6/26-6/30
This is the major national competition of the year.
It is by far the largest tournament.
This tournament counts towards your national ranking.
You can register at and get more information at:

Preparing for these quickly approaching tournaments, we should practice just as we would shoot at competitions.

As numerous of our coaches have reminded us, how you shoot at competitions should not be any different than the way you practice.

They also have told us that "practice doesn't make perfect. PERFECT practice makes perfect."

Keeping those in mind, be sure to practice "perfectly", even if it's just stretch band.

We need strong foundations to keep focus throughout our shots.

Don't forget to keep hydrated in the rather hot weather!
